Homemade Alfredo Sauce

Alfredo sauce is commonly combined with different types of pasta like fettuccine and spaghetti. The sauce contains butter as well as parmesan cheese. Other ingredients can also be added to the sauce to enhance its flavor such as cream, chicken, garlic, shrimp and parsley. Easy Homemade Alfredo Sauce

To make this delightful and savory sauce, you must have a small package of cream cheese, a cup of milk, a shallot, two cloves garlic, a teaspoon of butter and a teaspoon of oil. Mince the garlic cloves and shallot. Pour the oil in a frying pan and place over medium heat. Saute the garlic and onion for 30 seconds. Remove the pan from heat. Place another pan on the heat. Pour the milk and add the cheese. Wait for the cheese to melt and mix well. Add the onion and garlic to the cheese mixture. Change the heat setting to low and stir for two minutes. Serve over pasta. Homemade Low Fat Chicken Alfredo

For the recipe, you will use 1 ½ pounds skinless and boneless chicken breasts, a medium size white onion, ¼ teaspoon allspice, ½ teaspoon basil, two ounces Parmesan cheese, two teaspoons garlic powder, ½ jar fat free chicken gravy, a tablespoon of flour and six ounces low fat sour cream. Slice the chicken into bite size squares. Pour a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan. Put the diced onions in the pan and sauté. Fry the chicken. Sprinkle garlic powder, allspice and basil. Add the chicken gravy and lower the heat. Simmer for five minutes to 10 minutes. Add the Parmesan cheese and sour cream. Continue stirring for two minutes or until the texture of the sauce becomes thick.

Homemade Shrimp and Spinach Alfredo

The ingredients are a pound of uncooked but peeled shrimp, ½ bag fresh spinach, a red bell pepper, a small package of sliced fresh mushrooms, a package of Knorrs Alfredo Sauce, two bunches scallions and two tablespoons minced garlic. Saute mushrooms, scallions, garlic and peppers in a pan for 10 minutes. Add the shrimp and spinach. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Pour three cups of water in another saucepan and add the sauce.
