Homemade Gravy Recipe

Gravy is a type of sauce that contains juices from vegetables and meat that come out while cooking. To enhance the taste of the sauce, you can add flavorings like ready-made cubes. The sauce contains 1 ½ tablespoons pork, chicken or beef soup base, a tablespoon of fresh parsley, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, two tablespoons flour, two tablespoons butter, ½ tablespoon olive oil, ½ teaspoon onion powder and ¼ teaspoon garlic powder. In addition, it has 1 ½ cups water or cold broth and ¼ thinly sliced or minced onion.

Combine the meat soup base, parsley, flour, butter, black pepper, olive oil, onion powder and garlic powder in a medium size pyrex bowl. Add the minced onion and broth. Mix well. Place the bowl inside a microwave. Set the microwave to medium heat. Cook for seven minutes or until it thickens. Serve immediately.

To make this delectable sauce, you need four tablespoons pan drippings, four level tablespoons flour, two cups water, ½ teaspoon beef broth and ½ tablespoon meat soup base. For seasoning, you will use ¼ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon pepper. Heat a skillet on medium fire and place the drippings in the pan. Add the flour and change the heat setting to low. The sauce contains ½ package of mild sausage, two tablespoons butter, two tablespoons all purpose flour, five cups whole milk, 1 ½ teaspoon salt and 1 ½ teaspoon pepper. Fry the sausage on a skillet. Add the flour and butter. Cover the skillet and simmer for three minutes to five minutes. Add the salt, milk and pepper. Stir until the texture of the sauce becomes thick. Serve with biscuits.

The ingredients for the sauce include ¼ cup pan drippings, ¼ cup flour, two cups milk, ½ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon pepper. Heat a pan over medium fire. Put the drippings and the flour. Stir and cook for five minutes. When the color of the sauce turns brown, add the pepper, salt and milk. Stir and wait for the sauce to boil. Serve immediately.
